Occupancy Specialist - Special Voucher Programs

Pay Rate: $39,227 ($18.86/hr.) - $49,035 ($23.57/hr.)

Summary of Job Duties
Receive applicants/referrals from appropriate agencies and available special vouchers, such as the Housing First, Emergency Housing Voucher Program, VASH, or other programs. Plan and conduct orientation for programs, enter data, and issue vouchers in accordance with regulations and procedures. Work with voucher holders to facilitate housing in accordance with program regulations. Conduct annual re-examinations in accordance with established procedures. Enter information in computer and process recertification, including verifying income and other data in accordance with established procedures and regulations. Maintain files and records. Schedule appointments for annual re-examinations, generate appointment letters, and conduct interviews, as needed. Receive information from clients regarding family composition, income, etc., verify, and make interim adjustments based on information. Assist in the operation of the programs by responding to inquiries by clients and landlords, referring clients to human services organizations, and making home visits, as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate Degree in social work or related field plus 2 years of work experience that involved dealing with the public, and using a computer, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer Bachelor's degree and experience in social work. Experience in the Housing Choice Voucher Program, public housing, or property management, and skill in using Microsoft Office Suite is helpful.


  • Certification as HCV Specialist (Must be completed within 1 year of employment)
  • Valid Driving License
  • Ability to be insured under the Authority's vehicle policy
