Summary of Job Duties
Monitor day to day operation of the FSS Program to assure that routine activities, such as escrow accrual, homeownership payments, terminations, contract extensions, etc., are completed in a timely manner. Coordinate with supervisor to establish program goals and procedures, prepare/update Action Plan, as needed, and establish/maintain Program Coordinating Committee. Manage assigned caseload. Recruit, screen and interview prospective participants in program, and enroll new participants. Identify needs and barriers to achieving goal, and plan for removal of barriers and needs. Provide counseling and guidance to residents to assist them in reaching the goal of self-sufficiency. Regularly meet with participants to provide training and individual assessment of progress, including credit repair assistance, assisting with making application for educational grants and scholarships and jobs.
Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, human services, or related field plus 3 years of experience in direct and indirect economic self-sufficiency services to a diverse low-income clientele. Knowledge of pertinent HUD regulations on FSS program, as well as the resources available through local agencies is desirable, Master's Degree preferred
