In Observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, January 20, 2020)

Martin Luther King Jr. was an American Baptist minister and activist who became the most visible spokesperson and leader in the civil rights movement from 1954 until his death in 1968. Since 1986, the birth date of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has been observed as a federal holiday by the federal government. It should be a day of community and humanitarian service, and interracial cooperation. Dr. King's legacy also has ties to the U.S. Fair Housing Act of 1968.
