Senior Housing Applications will be taken at Jefferson County Housing Authority (Spring Gardens Office) at 201 Spring Gardens Road, Birmingham, AL 35217.

Application Closes: Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 3:00 PM

Applications are being accepted on TUESDAYS ONLY (November 4, 2025 - November 25, 2025). You are welcome to pick up an application between 9:00 am - 3:00 pm on one of those Tuesdays, you may print off an application via our website's APPLY NOW page, or one can be emailed to you.

You can drop off your application at the Spring Gardens Office with the requested documents on TUESDAYS ONLY.

Must be 62 years of age to apply.

Applications should have the proper Identification, which includes:

• State Driver's License, State ID, or Military ID

Applicants already on the waiting lists for other housing programs must apply separately for this program and such applicants will not lose their place on other waiting lists when they apply for public housing.

Directions to Spring Gardens Office:
Get on I-65 N. Continue on I-65 N to Fultondale. Use the right 2 lanes to exit 265B to merge onto US-31 N toward Fultondale. Take Black Creek Rd and Springdale Gardens Rd. Turn right onto Walker Chapel Rd. Continue onto Carson Rd/New Castle Rd. Turn right onto Black Creek Rd/Republic Ave. Continue to follow Black Creek Rd. Continue onto Pinehill Rd, Sharp left onto Springdale Rd. Turn right onto Industrial Pkwy/Oak Station. Turn right onto Murphee Rd. Turn right onto Spring Gardens Rd.
