Join Us in Celebrating the Remarkable Homeownership Achievement of Ms. Libra Wilson
Fultondale, AL - February 10, 2025 - The Jefferson County Housing Authority proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of Ms. Libra Wilson, who successfully completed the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program and became a homeowner on December 19, 2024. Ms. Wilson, a dedicated Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) participant since 2002, has exemplified perseverance, determination, and commitment to financial independence.
A long-time employee of Birmingham City Schools, Ms. Wilson has dedicated over eight years to serving the community's youth. While enrolled in the FSS Program, she furthered her professional development by earning certifications in Food, Health, and Nutrition-an accomplishment that underscores her commitment to lifelong learning and self-improvement.
The Family Self-Sufficiency Program is designed to empower participants to achieve economic independence by providing financial education, career development, and homeownership readiness support. Ms. Wilson's journey reflects the program's mission in action-turning aspirations into reality.
